A DMV approved 8-hour curriculum of classroom instruction for individuals who failed the knowledge (permit) test three times and need to take the test a fourth time. When the course is completed, the individual submits their certificate of completion to DMV for a chance to test again.
Course consists of PowerPoint presentation, class discussion, workbook and final exam. The final exam is 50 multiple choice questions and a minimum score of 80% is required to successfully pass. If the final exam score is below 80%, you may return to take the exam again at no additional charge. However, per DMV rules, you can only take the final exam once per calendar day.
If you fail the knowledge exam three times and are under age 18, you must retake the classroom component of driver education. If you wish to take the 8-hour driver's manual course, you must provide proof of having completed the Driver Education Course, the classroom component, before you are allowed to take the driver's manual course.
Class sizes must necessarily be reduced to comply with 6 feet of social distancing requirements. We will clean and sanitize all high-contact surfaces (including doors, desks, chairs, and restroom facilities) daily and prior to the start of each new class date. Students are asked to thoroughly wash their hands prior to the start of each class meeting. Hand sanitizer will be available.
Students are required to wear a face-covering (masks, scarves, etc.) while inside our building. The face coverings must be worn properly; refusal to do so will result in removal from class. Do not attend class if showing symptoms of illness.
