Top Notch Driving Schools Inc. (TNDSI) is a driver training school that serves the Hampton Roads area. Our mission is to equip student drivers with the skills needed to be defensive and safe drivers. We are licensed by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles and we are affiliated with National Driver Training and 3A Method Driving School. We offer a wide range of services including Driver Improvement, Behind-the-Wheel Courses, Driving Lessons, Escort Vehicle Driver Training, Driver Education, and Instructor Certification for the Driver's Manual Course.
TNDSI opened on October 1, 2014, in Yorktown, Virginia. Our customer base was built from our array of courses, great customer service, and our ability to train students that needed extra help. We operated in Yorktown for three years before we relocated to Newport News, Virginia. We continue to service our community and provide a curriculum that helps to improve safety and reduce accidents. Over the years we have helped hundreds of students gain their driver's license and prepare for the fast and furious world of driving. TNDSI services areas of Hampton, Newport News, Yorktown, Seaford, and Poquoson.
We have a driving instructor with law enforcement experience and with access to military bases. We offer home and school pick-up and drop-off for local students at no additional charge. Our school has two-regular maintained, state inspected, and automatic transmission vehicles equipped with a dual-brake and a passenger-side rearview mirror.

The Governor's Executive Directive for minimizing customer contact (1 student per vehicle) has expired and is, therefore, no longer effective. Driving schools must administer the in-vehicle component of driver education, behind-the-wheel, with two students in the vehicle to meet the observation requirement. This applies to juveniles and adults.
