The driver education course is 36 fifty-minute periods of instruction.
The course includes components about alcohol safety, drug abuse awareness, aggressive driving, distracted driving, pedestrian and bicycle safety, handicapped parking, fuel-efficient driving practices, motorcycle awareness, and organ and tissue donation awareness as required by law.
Students will receive a syllabus detailing the subjects covered in class, the grading requirements, and the attendance policy. Students must complete all sessions before taking the final exam.
Effective July 1, 2022:
As a result of SB 78, all students in Virginia must complete the Parent/Teen component as part of the driver education course. A student who is (1) at least 18 years of age, (2) an emancipated minor, or (3) an unaccompanied minor not in the physical custody of his parent or guardian is exempt from this requirement.
Students outside Planning District 8 may take the online class, and the participation of the student's parent or guardian is encouraged but not required.
Bookings will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Don't delay!
