In light of the current public health emergency, the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has implemented a change to allow all persons, adults and juveniles, who successfully completed an online driver improvement clinic to take the end-of-course test online. After December 1, 2020, in-person testing at a centralized location is no longer required.
Top Notch Driving School has partnered with 3A Method Driving Schools to provide our students with the online driver improvement clinic.
The online driver improvement clinic course is an eight-hour course, including the final test, and is designed to rehabilitate problem drivers. The course must be completed in its entirety prior to the issuance of a certificate of completion.
The online driver improvement course and the final test must be completed through a DMV-licensed online driver improvement clinic. No paper test permitted.
Any student taking the Online Driver Improvement course acknowledges that they MUST complete the course within six (6) months of registration. There will be NO refund after starting the online course.
To benefit from the course, you must be able to work independently and be comfortable with using a computer.
If you are required to attend a commercial driver improvement clinic, then this computer-based course will not satisfy a driver improvement clinic requirement. You must satisfactorily complete a clinic that provides CDL classroom instruction.
Your court may or may not accept the certificate of completion for this computer-based course. It is your responsibility to determine whether your court accepts courses taken at online traffic schools. Customers directed by the court must provide documentation from the court before safe driving points can be awarded.
