To benefit from the course, you must be able to work independently and be comfortable with using a computer.
Your court may or may not accept the certificate of completion for this computer-based course. It is your responsibility to determine whether your court accepts courses taken at online traffic schools. Customers directed by the court must provide documentation from the court before safe driving points can be awarded.
The online driver improvement clinic course is an eight-hour course and is designed to rehabilitate problem drivers. The course must be completed in its entirety prior to the issuance of a certificate of completion. The online driver improvement course and the final test must be completed through a DMV-licensed online driver improvement clinic. No paper test permitted.
The course fee is $60. After paying for the course, you will need to register and log in to begin the course.
An appointment must be scheduled to complete the final exam.

Step 1: Pay the course fee of $60.

Step 3: Select your course in the drop-down box (English or Spanish) and complete the form. Review your information to be sure everything is correct and press the button with "register."

Step 4: Complete the course at your own pace. You must complete all 11 sessions and pass each session quiz to move on to the final exam. You can save your progress, exit, and return to the course at any point. We will keep user profiles active for 6 months before they are deleted.
Step 5: Call 757-926-5956 to schedule a final exam appointment.
Step 1: Make sure you have scheduled a final exam appointment and you know where the test site is located.
Step 2: When you arrive, present your photo identification to verify your identity. Acceptable forms of photo ID is a DMV-issued ID, valid passport, or military ID.
Step 2.1: Present any DMV or court paperwork that the instructor needs to review or sign.
Step 3: The online traffic school will provide a computer for testing. The final exam code will be entered by the instructor, then the student can enter their login details to begin the exam.
Step 4: Complete the final exam with a score of 80% or better. The final exam is 50 multiple-choice questions. Open book testing is not allowed. If you fail the final exam, you may review the course curriculum and retake the exam at no additional cost. However, per DMV regulations, you may only take the final exam once per day.
Step 5: Upon successful completion of the final exam, the student will receive the course completion certificate. Your course completion will be electronically submitted to DMV within 24 hours.
